Favourite event in Havil 🏫:

While there were so many events that I loved, I think in the end, I would highlight Sports Day. I got there earlier to help set up and the atmosphere around me was so bubbly and lively. Sure, all of us were full of nerves but we were charged with a shot of team spirit as well. The stadium was decorated in beautiful blue-ocean themed decoration which was lovely and matched our creative flair in Blue House. The other parts of the stadium were decorated amazingly for their respective houses.

The large green field and track stood in front of the stadium seats. I chatted with my friends and wished them luck. During every event, everyone was on the stands cheering. Of course, we were more focused on our own house but we did cheer for our friends on other teams, which was sweet.

I was a bundle of nerves when it was my turn to run. It was really hot on the field, it made this whole experience a whole lot more painful. Running was not my forte and maybe I didn't exactly do my best but I kept trying to run until the end. While it was an unforgettable experience I'd rather never have to do it again. Near the end, we played a really fierce game of tug of war, and the blue team won :) All throughout this event, I kept reminding myself that this was our last year so we might as well make the most of it. I think all of us in Year 11 enjoyed the many events at Havil because we got to experience so many high school memories.

Shout Out ✊:

Honestly, I could name so many people, not just for their actions a single time but for all they've done for me.

A special shout out goes to Hannah because she was always there for me and never failed to make me laugh. We also studied really well together and pushed each other farther.

Sean and Zhi Yang both helped me out a lot in studying and just having fun in general.

Emily and Zhao Yun are lovely creative people who I definitely enjoy talking to and hanging out with.

See Wei just made my whole life super enjoyable, I could basically give her an award at this point.

Stella and Shirlene are people whom I've experienced amusing and relaxing times with. Sara was always helping me out and being her knowledgeable kind of self.

This might be getting kind of long but everyone was just too good for this world!

Besides all the teachers at school, there was my tutor, Mrs. Ruorong who has definitely pushed me far in Add Maths and made continue on in the end.

Lastly, to my family who always supported me from behind the scenes, I will always appreciate you.

SPEECH WRITE UP

Before anything I just want everyone to feel happy that we graduated! We actually did it, cheers to us. I had so many expectations coming to Havil this year because obviously I was new and eager to have a colourful high school life. I truly have come to fall in love with our little comforting school community and classmates in year 11. It was a truly memorable year for me.

During this period in my life, I was surrounded by so much change. Honestly, even now I’m still processing how much has changed. I’ve been moving to a lot of places in these past few years. At one point I felt like I was stuck because I had to learn a whole new language to communicate with people in my daily life. But as a person, I grew to tread outside my comfort zone and enjoy every moment of it.

I brought all of my personal experiences and growth with me to Havil. All I can say is the past year has been one of the best years of my life. Because I decided to take risks, push myself, and appreciate all the small things.

There were so many school events that have coloured my life, like international day and sports day. Most in which I ended up having roles where I was constantly pushed to participate and help. Throughout it all, I’ve learned so many new skills and expanded my relationships with people. Even now I don’t regret a moment of it.

More than this, I especially want to give a huge thanks to the teachers who taught me this year. I struggled so much to catch up with the material but you were always encouraging me and helping me to understand. Just know that you’ve made a large impact on my life.

Truly, this was an enjoyable senior year and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I will continue to grow and learn as a person and embrace these changes. I hope to carry these experiences and lovely friends I made as Havil with me throughout my life.  My goal at the start of year 11 was to have a memorable high school life. Undoubtedly, I have achieved that.
